Support requests
Make a small, clear request to someone you trust
Sometimes the hardest part is finding the words. Support requests help you name a small kind of company you would welcome, while giving the other person a clear choice about their capacity.
What Support requests includes
- Say what would be welcome
- Accepted friends only
- Clear timing and control
Say what would be welcome
Choose listening, a check-in, a walk, a call or a shared practice. Add an optional note so your friend understands the invitation.
Accepted friends only
Choose from people already in your circle. Your friend can accept or decline, with no expectation that they are always available.
Clear timing and control
Choose when the request expires, follow its response and withdraw a pending request if your needs change.
How it works
- Open the Together tools in your trusted circle.
- Choose an accepted friend and the kind of support you would welcome.
- Add an optional note, choose an expiry and send the request.
- Check their response, or withdraw a pending request if it is no longer needed.
Support requests do not create a duty of care or guarantee a response. They are not monitored crisis support or an emergency service.
Questions about Support requests
Can I send a request to a stranger?
No. Support requests are for accepted friends in your existing circle.
Does my friend have to accept?
No. They can accept or decline according to their own capacity. A request is an invitation, not an obligation.
What if I need urgent help?
Do not rely on a support request for urgent help. It is not monitored and a friend may not respond; use appropriate local professional or emergency support.
